If you are in a quest of finding a prefect WHITE dress - you are in luck! Start by taking a white color palate first (and not the dress) and try to match you skin tone with different shades of white (...ecru, ivory, cream, eggshell, latte ...), there should be at least one that will make your skin look radiant and healthy. Generally skin tones are either warm (has yellow, orange and red undertones) or cool (has blue and pink undertones). The design of the dress should flatter your body, here you shouldn't experiment much, start by trying on the 5 classical designs (A-line, full skirt, column, empire line and mermaid dress - bellow from Vera Wang collection), you will know which one to go for in an instant, and than you can be creative - but stick to the basics and add some flair to the gown by the use of different luxurious fabric, the best suited for the occasion are smooth materials, such as: taffeta (crisp), silk (soft), satin (glossy), rayon (lustrous), chiffon (elegant), tulle (floating) and organza (silky).
Now, it is all down to your imagination, be it driven by fashion, traditions or family values. If you do not feel like spanding thousands of dollars on a lable, there are two way to go around it (1) order a copy of a designer dress - custom made from a specialised atelier or (2) get an exceptional quality fabric (you can get even couture at reasonable price) and keep the dress simple.
